Marina Hoermanseder creates more or less wearable art from leather.
Now one of the most exciting fashion talents in the world: Marina Hoermanseder – half French, half Austrian and a resident of Berlin – has managed to take leather to a new level. Her unique and breath-taking sculptural creations lie somewhere between fetish and high fashion. Her perfect handmade leather corsages nestle against the body like a second skin or a protective layer. Hoermanseder contrasts elaborate leather straps, progressive cuts and intricate fastenings with soft fabrics and flowing silhouettes. In addition to shows in Portugal, Dubai, London and Paris, the designer, whose creations are inspired by children’s books, celebrated her debut at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin last year.
