Fashion Revolution Day launched
The international Fashion Revolution Day on 24 April 2015 was dedicated to sustainability.
"Who made my clothes?" was the big debate again during this year's Fashion Revolution Day. Companies, designers and stores used this day to provide consumers around the globe with some answers.
In Germany, participants included stores such as Supermarché in Berlin and Glore in Nuremberg, as well as the mail order company Hessnatur. Numerous presentations, discussion groups, events and workshops raised awareness about factors such as delivery chains, manufacturing conditions and recycling – including a clothes-swapping party and the Fair Fashion Tour through Berlin.
The Fashion Revolution Day came about as a result of discussions for better manufacturing conditions following the collapse of the Rana Plaza factory. The international event celebrated its première last year.
