With more than 220 brands presenting new collections for spring/summer 2015 on 11,000 m² of exhibition space and more international visitors than ever before, Children’s Fashion Cologne (CFC) closed its doors in mid-July.
A total of 1,300 trade visitors from 34 countries used three days at the premium exhibition for children’s, baby and maternity clothes and accessories to place orders and make new business contacts. Among the companies represented from 18 countries were labels such as Naturino, Bellybutton, Candice Cooper, Converse, Easy Peasy, Hummel, Lelli Kelly and Levi’s Kidswear.
Colourful supporting programme
The highlights of Children’s Fashion Cologne were once again fashion shows held on all three days. More than 60 young up-and-coming models presented the new collections from labels such as Camp David, Converse, Gaudí, Levi’s Kidswear, Monnalisa and Replay & Sons.
As an added highlight, the YoungStars Award was presented for the first time ever. The award is aimed at emerging designers in the children’s fashion segment. Winner Angelika Böhm from Lüneburg, who has only had her diploma from Hamburg’s JAK Academy for Fashion Design for three months, plans to use the award to start her professional career: „I’m very excited about this award and see it as a great starting point for my career as a fashion designer.“ Böhm received a cash prize and the opportunity to present her label and new collection at the winter edition of Children’s Fashion Cologne in the spring of 2015. Creativity, wearability, outstanding workmanship and a slightly different design idea – these were the main criteria in deciding who would take top honours. With her ’Komodig‘ collection, Angelika Böhm perfectly met these requirements, the expert jury wrote in its statement.
Building on the momentum from previous exhibitions, the ’Pimp my Shop NOW‘ event was held once again, in cooperation with Dutch retail design experts from ’Finishing Dutch‘. The event was targeted at small and medium-sized retailers attending CFC. They were given the opportunity to obtain free advice during business ”speed dates“ with shop-fitting and merchandising experts in order to modernise and redesign their stores.
